Nursing Research Conference - May 2013

“INTRODUCTION TO THE RESEARCH PROCESS IN HEALTHCARE SERVICES: CONTRIBUTION TO PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT”

1ST INTERNATIONAL NURSING RESEARCH CONFERENCE IN SRI LANKA

IIHS organized the 1st International Nursing Research Conference and Forum in Sri Lanka with the participation of an Eminent Panel of top university delegates from Australia, UK & Malaysia. The occasion was graced by HE Acting Australian High Commissioner – Ms. Sonya Koppe and Dr. Amal Harsha- Additional Secretary, Ministry of Health. Number of veterans from the Sri Lankan Nursing arena including CNOs, Nursing school principals, lecturers, students & Nursing council members took part in this inaugural event. This event was supported by the Australian Trade Commission, Australia Future Unlimited & endorsed by the Department of Health, Western Province, Sri Lanka. This conference was held at Sri Lanka Foundation Institute Colombo.

Target Zero HAI – November 2013

“TARGET ZERO HAI – DRIVING TOWARDS ZERO HOSPITAL ACQUIRED INFECTIONS”

Bio Inquirer – Target Zero HAI – Driving Towards Zero Hospital Acquired Infections “ was the second conference organized by IIHS which was held on 21st and 22nd November 2013 with the participation of an eminent panel including international healthcare professionals. The conference focused on infection control in hospitals aligning with the theme “Target Zero HAI” – Driving Towards Zero Hospital Accumulated Infection. This two day conference was an attempt for continuous professional development and provided the platform for research dissemination.

“Trauma & Emergency Care”- May 2014

BIO-INQUIRER - 2014

International Institute of Health Sciences with the support of Australian Trade Commission organized the International Health Conference Bio-Inquirer 2014 for the 3rd consecutive time at the Auditorium of Neuro-Trauma Unit at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka, Colombo 10 on 23rd and 24th of May.

The topic of the conference was “Trauma & Emergency Care” which was conceptualized with the prime objective of sharing the latest Knowledge and Innovations in Modern Trauma and Emergency Care. The eminent panel of speakers consisted of leading academics, health professionals & scientists from USA, Australia, UK, Malaysia & Sri Lanka. These high profiled speakers rendered a lot of interest during both days of the conference & this was evident as the venue was fully occupied during both days.

Coventry University, UK, Griffith University Australia & Open University Malaysia contributed as the university partners of the event.

The Chief Guest for this conference was H.E. Ms. Robyn Mudie, Australian High Commissioner whilst the guest of honor was Dr.Amal Harsha De Silva, the Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Health Sri Lanka. A number of figure heads in the local health arena also participated in this conference whilst the members of the Maldives Nursing Board participated as special invitees

Zero Sport Injuries – April 2015

April 2015 was an exceptionally remarkable month for IIHS (International Institute of Health Sciences) as yet again the globally renowned establishment succeeded in carrying out one of the most appealing and informative health conferences for health care professionals and students around the island. The theme for this year’s IIHS Bio Inquirer “Zero Sports Injuries” International Health Conference was centered on the increased call for sports injury prevention amongst the community and the need for acquiring basic first aid skills amongst the first responders in major sports and health care venues. Furthermore, the conference addressed relevant issues concerning sports nutrition and sports psychology in the global context.
