International Institute of Health Sciences, Sri Lanka will be organizing its 13^th BioInquirer – Annual Academic Sessions and Workshop on 18^th and 19^th of November 2019.

This year the theme for the Annual Academic Sessions is “New Dimension in Health: Creating a Sustainable Healthcare Safety Net for All”. Healthcare Safety Net (HSN) is defined as those providers that organize and deliver a significant level of healthcare and other related services to uninsured, underinsured, and other vulnerable populations, due to their financial circumstances, insurance status, or health condition.  HSN has to be sustainable by achieving high-quality care delivery and improved public health without exhausting natural resources or causing severe ecological damage.  This being a new approach to healthcare, considering spiritual and financial factors in addition to the previously considered physical, emotional and social factors, makes it a new dimension of health.  In a nutshell, it is our responsibility to ensure that all people have access to needed promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative health services, of sufficient quality to be effective, while also ensuring that people do not suffer financial hardship when paying for these services.
