Dr. Kithsiri Edirisinghe (MBBS, MSc, MD (Medical Administration), has over 26 years’ experience in the health industry and over 13 years’ experience in the education industry.

Dr. Edirisinghe has been involved as an academic in healthcare training and development for over a decade, where he possess a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and he is also a Certified Master Trainer, Australia.

He is a frequent contributor as a resource person for the College of Medical Administrators and many other professional forums such as BioInquirer forums, the Health Informatics Society, Commonwealth Medical Association and Medical Education Conferences. He has further contributed to international conferences hosted by prestigious higher education institutes such as Coventry University, UK and Open University Malaysia- OUM.

He has pioneered the development of a regional center for international universities in Sri Lanka and currently he heads the innovative organisation known as International Institute of Health Sciences (IIHS). He managed to lead this organisation to become No. 1 in research, the only organisation providing Certificate, Diploma to Bachelors, to Masters and Doctorates in nursing specialties in Sri Lanka. It is an ISO 9001:2015 accredited institute and has Associate Membership of the Association of Commonwealth Universities and the Commonwealth Nursing and Midwifery Federation

Dr. Edirisinghe’s expertise and research interests include Strategic Management in Health, Health Care Quality and Risk Management, Legal and Ethical Environment in Health and Research in Health Care.

He was selected as a candidate to represent Sri Lanka at the International Visitor Leadership Program 2012 by USA, Department of State Bureau and Cultural Affairs and a pioneer in organizing International undergraduate and Post graduate level nursing programs in Sri Lanka. He was awarded the entrepreneur of the year by Asian Grid awards, India in 2009.

He has contributed to the invention of BioInquirer which is an International Incubator of Global Knowledge, where workshops, conferences, community projects have been held in Sri Lanka, whilst giving an opportunity for all Sri Lankan nursing professionals , motivating them towards evidence-based practice, and where over 500 research publications have been made at BioInquirer Research Conferences. Furthermore, this global incubator has contributed to upgrading the local health care professional’s knowledge and skills through 5 technical conferences and over 50 research workshops. The collaborative academic sessions were held in combination with the Commonwealth Medical Association, Asian Health Informatics Association and College of Medical Administrators.

He is the Project Coordinator for the undergraduate and post graduate study programmes conducted by the University of Aberdeen Scotland including the Medical and health programmes.

Dr. Edirisinghe has been recently appointed as a member on the Advisory Committee on Professional Services (Education Services) of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board.
